Saudi Airlines Cargo Company, the leading air cargo carrier in the Middle East, recently won International Cargo Airline of the YearIn Africaat the STAT Times’ Excellence Award event from 25-27 Feburary,2015.
The STAT Trade Times, is an international multimodal transport publication, and has since 2006 presented awards in various categories to encourage excellence in the air cargo industry.
Saudi Airlines Cargo Company, is considered as one of the freight transportation companies which has developed a signiﬁcant and diversified presence in Africa due to the volume of shipping services provided, which covers more than sixty stations and the rate of weekly flights has gone up to 43 flights, which have exceeded 2100 tons weekly nationally.
The award was received by Rainer Mueller, Vice President-Commercial acting at Saudi Airlines Cargo Company.
Commenting on the award, Nabil Khojah, CEO of Saudi Airlines Cargo Company said: “Receiving this prestigious award is a great honor and a powerful endorsement by our customers. It really shows of our focus and dedication to providing the highest levels of service.”
He added “This award sets us apart in the increasingly competitive African region and confirms that we are on the right track.”
Moreover, Khojah said that the company is constantly seeking new market opportunities and it will also be seeking to expand interline operations in the African continent.
He added “Despite tough competition in Africa, we have recorded a significant presence and managed during the past few years to get a big share which was the key driver in enabling the carrier to increase freighter capacity to Africa in 2014 to 35% compared to the year 2013 launched from Saudia Cargo’s main station in Africa, Nairobi, Lagos and Johannesburg.
The International Award for Excellence is instituted in various sectors of the air cargo industry. The award recipients were decided by the worldwide readers of STAT Times via an online poll that ran from 1 January to 31 January 2015.
